It was an extra sweet day and Mrs. Avram's kindergarten class- We made homemade applesauce together as a class family. 🧑🏼🍳 From start to finish, our little chefs were hands on every step of the way: washing the apples, chopping (with lots of adult help), adding just the right amount of cinnamon and watching it simmer into warm, cozy goodness! We talked about where apples come from, used our five senses to explore each ingredient and learned what it means to work as a team! By the end, our room smelled amazing and our hearts were full! ❤️ The best part? Sitting down to taste the applesauce we made together.

All the proceeds are used to purchase the Scholastic Magazines for each Elementary classroom. We also purchased math games and literacy activities for kindergarten and first grade this year.

It's officially Fall and our flowers are still blooming in the Court St. bioswale! This green infrastructure diverts stormwater runoff into the ground, instead of into the Au Gres River. The native Michigan plants absorb and break down pollutants carried in the stormwater. The images show Brown-eyed Susan, Shrubby Cinquefoil, and Prairie Heart-leaved Aster blooming right now in the bioswale.
