Ms. Heck's 3rd graders would love to shout from the rooftop a huge THANK YOU to the Michael and Carol Dwan Family Donor Advised Fund in partnership with the Bay Area Community Foundation for giving us access to a plethora of books to support our writing! We cannot wait to read all of these wonderful, engaging texts and model our writing after them!

Fifth graders also serve their community by leading the whole school in saying the Pledge of Allegiance every morning! All students participate and serve as role models to help demonstrate to our youngest and oldest students how to be respectful and responsible school leaders.

Our story today in fourth grade turned out to be a play. We just couldn't read it, so we had four brave students who took a role and created a magical play with props. We used our imagination and turned the broom into a cane! We read about how a blind person can still participate and be a team player with their four other senses!

Four fourth graders standing with their ELA books in hand reading their part of the play.
As we started reading the play, we realized the one girl wore black glasses and had a cane. So we created that part with a broom and sunglasses.
Continuing our play with props!
3rd graders experienced more community building today. We celebrated a birthday with giggles and ice cream. We also shared math strategies, with students bravely "taking over the pen". This builds trust, confidence, and an understanding that it is okay to make mistakes.

Today, Mrs. Avram's kindergarten mathematicians worked on finding matches during a fun, hands-on math lesson! And what better way to practice than with a good ol’ game of Memory Match with different sock cards! 🤗🧦 Our little learners were busy matching, remembering, thinking, and having fun—all while building important math skills! We sure love learning through play! #WolverinesLead #PavingPossibilities
