Blackberries were our fresh fruit and vegetable snack. Did you know that blackberries are not really a berry? Well. the kids didn't care, they loved them. You can tell be the empty cups.
Oh yeah, we had bbq chicken and scalloped potatoes for lunch on Wednesday. A nice hot meal to warm them up on such a cold day.
Mrs. Avram's kindergarteners have been learning about nouns! They labeled nouns in their classroom: cars, ducks, a whiteboard, a kitchen, and a teacher!!
Chemistry students engineered casein plastic, a biodegradable plastic derived from milk. The technology to create biodegradable plastic has been around since the early 1900s. Today's chemistry students have the power to change our reliance on fossil fuel generated plastic. #greenchemistry #biodegradable

Broccoli 🥦 was our veggie for the fresh fruit and vegetable program. So we made a broccoli salad with a yogurt dressing. We heard everything from it's bussin to oh yuck. Just can't figure them out!
Spaghetti was the hot item of the day. The kids sure like their spaghetti 🍝.
So what do you think we had today? We had persimmons. The question of the day was out of 100 persimmons cut why did only 1 have a seed? Mr Bartletts class came up with they are a self pollinated plant.
Pizza was what we had for lunch on Friday. I think it was a win for this class!
River got to sit in Mrs. Avram's teacher chair today as a reward for PAWS. She was a positively awesome Wolverine student. Way to go!

Mrs. Avram's kindergarteners enjoyed fairytales written and illustrated by some of Mrs. Olar's 9/10 grade ELA students this week! Both classes have been learning about this genre and enjoyed every moment!!
