It was an honor to represent Au Gres-Sims School District this past weekend in Lansing, to accept the award from the Michigan Science Teachers Association as the 2025 Michigan High School Science Teacher of the Year! It's fun to watch how different groups of students choose what the are going to have. One group chose the Chinese Chicken and the other group chose the Bosco cheese sticks.
Mixed berry smoothies were a hit this morning. We always have a lot to choose from for our breakfast choices.
Today we had Jicama (pronounced HEE-kuh-muh) This is a root vegetable. It taste like an apple but not as sweet.
Our taste test today was banana split parfaits. And our new breakfast item was bagel pizza. Another day of national school breakfast week is in the books. What else do we have to offer for the week?Just tune in to see.
This morning had environmental science students seeing green. Fifteen days after sowing the first round of native Michigan plant seeds, we observed the first seedlings emerge from the soil today!

😎 Ms. Heather's fun fact is that she married her high school sweetheart and she went to Au Gres rival school (Arenac Eastern) .
