Superintendent Collier Shares Farewell Letter to AGS Community

June 30, 2020

Dear Au Gres-Sims Community,

Today is my last day as your Superintendent at Au Gres-Sims School District.  I officially transition tomorrow into my new role as Superintendent of Saginaw Intermediate School District.  I wish to again share my deepest gratitude for being able to serve as your Superintendent of Schools for these past eight years.  I have treasured my time on this campus, and my wife, children, and I will dearly miss donning Maroon and Gold and joining the #WolverinesLead mantra.

I greatly appreciate and cherish the opportunities for leadership that I have been afforded at Au Gres-Sims.  This is a vibrant educational community, and I have been fortunate to have served the greater Au Gres region as the district’s instructional leader.  Our years of collaborative work together at Au Gres-Sims School District, focused on collectively building an incredible Culture of Learning for our students, staff, and community, have provided a strong foundation of consistency to propel this District’s sustainable initiatives forward.  I am extremely proud of the “What If?” and “Why Not?” mindsets we established that allowed us to dare to be regional leaders in modeled student programs, talent attraction, 1:1 instructional technology and robust infrastructure, capital improvements to campus, innovative literacy curriculums, pioneering STEM practices, extensive partnerships, the Academy at Au Gres-Sims, Great Start Readiness Preschool, grant-writing, community-building, and branded storytelling.

I am exceedingly blessed to have partnered with you during these exciting years of growth, innovation, and success, and I am eager to continue our partnership as I transition to my new servant leadership role in Saginaw County.  Thank you for your enduring support and friendship.  I look forward to watching Au Gres-Sims School District continue to set new standards of excellence as a “Destination District!”

Yours in Education,

Jeffrey Collier
Superintendent of Schools
