CALL TO JOIN THE PARENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE

October 16, 2023

Hello Au Gres-Sims Parents and Guardians,

Last Friday I shared through our district newsletter that we are in the early stages of bringing a school-based health center to the campus of Au Gres-Sims. We have partnered with Sterling Area Health Center to make this happen and are using grants to fund the project. As is the case with all grant funding, there are necessary steps that must be taken in order to receive both initial and ongoing operational funding. One of those steps is the establishment of a Parent Advisory Committee.

A small leadership group of parents has agreed to lead this committee, all of whom have a connection to the medical field, but more importantly, all have children in our district and a strong desire to see that all the children of Au Gres-Sims have access to medical care. The leadership group is composed of Katie Wilson (chair), Katie Stiff, Matt Dewyer, and Shari Richardson.

The Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) is a requirement of the school based health clinic program and is tasked with providing input on clinic programming, approving of services, student consent forms, and policies and procedures used by our AGS site. Additionally, this group will make up the valuable network of people who disseminate information about the clinic and assist in getting your questions answered.

The PAC is looking for more parents to join the group! If you are interested in this project then I encourage you to join our group and be a part of bringing a school based health clinic to Au Gres-Sims.

If you are interested, please complete this short form (https://forms.gle/4kFS9uDzTMJSkPuL9) and plan on attending our next PAC meeting on Thursday, October 26 at 6pm in the elementary library.
